How to Measure T-Shirts
Avoid stretching any section of the T-shirt. Ensure it remains wrinkle-free. Keep the surface as flat as a board. Select a comfortable T-shirt that fits well, then follow the chart below for measurements.
Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it snug but not too tight.
Measure from the top of your shoulder near the neck straight down to the bottom of the shirt.
For long sleeves, measure from the neck seam all the way down to the end of the sleeve.
Start from the middle of the back of the neck, go over the shoulder, and measure down to the end of the sleeve.
Measure around your arm from the shoulder joint down to the armpit.
Measure from the middle of the back, over the shoulder, and down to where the sleeve meets the shirt.
Measure from the seam where the collar attaches to the shirt to the outer edge of the collar.
Mark the spot for your pocket by measuring “X” inches down from the shoulder and “Y” inches to the right of the center.
Ensure the sleeve hem is neatly finished with a straight stitch and turned inside out for a clean look.
A good hem adds a bit of weight, helping your T-shirt hang nicely and look great.
